Two Rangers killed by 'outlaws'

By Our Correspondent

RAJANPUR, Sept 16: Two Rangers personnel were killed and five others wounded in a rocket attack on their checkpoint at Jathro near the Balochistan border on Thursday.

A Rangers official said the attack on checkpoint No 11 was carried out by Bugti 'outlaws', who used rocket launchers and mortar bombs. Lance Naiks Naeem Raza and Muhammad Amjad were killed in the attack.

The official, seeking anonymity, said five Rangers were injured in the attack and taken to the DHQ hospital. He identified them as Ahmed Yar, Muhammad Boota, Javed, Muhammad Faiz and Muhammad Irfan. Sources said this was the fifth assault on Rangers within a week.
