HYDERABAD: Nazim accused of usurping resources

By Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Sept 16: Pakistan Muslim League leaders Malik Changez Khan, Malik Sameer, Malik Nadir, Sarwar Shaikh and others have accused Dadu District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar of usurping mineral resources of Kohistan.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club, they said Kohistan was very rich in mineral resources but these resources were monopolized by the nazim and people of the area were living in abject poverty.

They also accused the nazim of exploiting the alleged murder attempt case of Dr Tek Chand, saying he had even got his uncle, Malik Alauddin, arrested in the case. They demanded arrest of real culprits involved in the attack.

VISITS: The District Monitoring Team, led by the EDO, education, Abdul Majeed Hur, on Wednesday paid surprise visits to different boys' and girls' schools in the Tando Allahyar taluka.

The EDO directed heads of the schools to convene monthly meetings of school management committees to improve working of their schools and ensure proper use of funds. The monitoring team also took notice of some irregularities in the schools.

Monitoring teams have been constituted at district level under directives of Sindh Education Minister Dr Hameeda Khuhro to ensure availability of educational facilities for students and check performance and attendance of teachers.
