LAHORE: 25 being quizzed in Salfi's murder

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Sept 16: As many as 25 religious scholars and students were being investigated in the murder case of Maulana Ibrahim Salfi, the Punjab Assembly was informed on Thursday.

On a call attention notice by MMA's Mohammad Waqas, Law Minister Raja Basharat declined to name the people being interrogated. Maulana Salfi, a leader of the Jamaatud Daawa, was shot dead by two motorcyclists on Sunday last.

Mr Basharat did not rule out the role of foreign agencies in the incident, as the Maulana used to help Kashmiri Mujahideen.

The minister said two teams were probing the killing and he had convened a meeting of officials of both the teams on Friday (today) to have updates from them. He invited the mover to join the meeting.
