KARACHI, Sept 14: President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday met several delegations participating in the Ideas 2004 exhibition of military hardware. Those who called on the president at the Expo Centre included delegations from France, Turkmenistan
, Ukraine, UAE, Qatar, Morocco and Italy.
Delegations from France, Ukraine, UAE, Qatar and Italy discussed various defence-related issues. More than 45 delegations from 30 countries are attending Ideas 2004.
The four-member Qatari delegation was led by Fahad Saif Fahad Al Khayarin, Commander Emiri Land Force, whereas the five-member UAE delegation was led by Maj-Gen Suhail Mohammed Khalifa Al Narar, Commander Naval Forces.
A four-member defence delegation from Ukraine, led by Yuri Prokofeed, Chairman of State Committee for Policy Military Cooperation and Export Control, also met the president.
Turkmenstan's delegation was led by its Deputy Defence Minister Col. G. Ashirov Guchmurat. Federal Minister for Defence Production Habibullah Waraich and Secretary Defence Production Air Marshal (rtd) Zahid Anees were present during the meetings.
