56th death anniversary of Quaid observed

KARACHI, Sept 11: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, accompanied by Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and members of Sindh Cabinet, paid a visit to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on his 56th death anniversary.

They laid a wreath, offered fateha and recorded their impressions in the visitor's book.

The governor and chief minister paid tribute to the founder of Pakistan and pledged to follow the ideas of Quaid-i-Azam and earn a prominent name for Pakistan in the comity of nations as a true welfare state.

Sindh Chief Secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani, IG Police Syed Kamal Shah, DCO Mir Hussain Ali, City Police Chief Tariq Jamil and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Navy observed 56th death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah with due reverence and solemnity.

According to a press release issued on Saturday, the day dawned with Quraan Khwani at the Mazar-i-Quaid where a large number of navy personnel recited the Holy Quraan and offered fateha for eternal peace to the soul of father of the nation. Colours at all Pakistan Navy units and establishments flew half- mast till sunset.

Bahria college also observed a holiday to instil in their students significance of the day and provide them an opportunity to acquaint themselves with the dynamic life of the Quaid by visiting his mausoleum, witnessing his belongings at his museum and reading books and articles published in newspapers. -APP/PPI
