'Development schemes of MNAs to be given priority'

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 11: Minister for Local Government Justice (retired) Abdul Razzaq Thaheem has said top priority will be given to development schemes of parliament members and he will personally contact the agencies concerned in this regard.

He was speaking at the meeting of the Standing Committee on Local Government held at Parliament House on Friday, says a press release.

The meeting was presided over by Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani. MNAs Syed Javed Ali Shah Jillani, Sardar Talib Hussain Nakai, Samina Khalid Ghurki, Begum Ishrat Ashraf, secretary and other officials of the ministry attended the meeting.

The committee expressed its displeasure over the statement of the law ministry representative regarding the Municipal Training and Research Institute (MTRI) building Karachi. It summoned the law minister and law secretary to the next meeting.

The committee members took serious notice of the illegal occupation of the Municipal Training Institute (MTRI) by ATCs, NAB and other agencies and unanimously passed a resolution demanding that the building be immediately vacated.
