MULTAN: Rangers' man killed in encounter

MULTAN, Sept 11: A Rangers official reportedly died in a heavy gunfight between rangers and some outlaws belonging to the Bugti area on the Punjab-Balochistan border in Rajanpur district.

An official source in the Rajanpur civil administration confirmed that a Rangers' official had been killed in the gunfight going on in Jatho and Driph Shah Zaman areas. The fight was continue till the filing of this report at 9pm.

Personnel's funeral prayers, he said, had been offered in the evening at the Rangers Headquarters in Rojhan.

The official feared that some people, including women and children, had been killed when the Rangers retaliated and fired shrapnel that landed at a village in Loti area of Dera Bugti.

TWO BOYS KILLED: Meanwhile, two school boys were killed in Goth Mazari area of Rojhan tehsil in Rajanpur district on Saturday when their motorbike reportedly hit a landmine.

Sanaullah and Mir Khan were on their way to school when the incident took place. Sanaullah died instantly while Mir Khan was taken to a hospital in Rahim Yar Khan where he succumbed to his injuries.
