LAHORE, Sept 9: A meeting of the ARD has been called for Friday (today) in Islamabad. According to coalition's secretary-general Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, the participants will discuss the situation and the ARD's future course of action.
He said the uniform issue would be discussed at length. The ARD, he reiterated, did not recognize Gen Musharraf as president or army chief and he must quit immediately.
The Dec 31 deadline, he said, had been set by the MMA, not the ARD. Mr Jhagra said the alliance would also condemn the failure of the NA Speaker to allow ARD President Javed Hashmi to come to the house on the day of the prime minister's election.
