Jakarta blast condemned

ISLAMABAD, Sept 9: Pakistan on Thursday condemned a brutal terrorist attack in Jakarta, which claimed several lives and injured hundreds. Commenting on the car bomb explosion outside the Australian embassy in Jakarta , foreign office spokesman Masood Ahmad Khan said the government and the people of Pakistan sent their condolences to the families of victims and conveyed their sympathies to the friendly people and government of Indonesia.

The spokesman said the people of Indonesia had been frequently targeted by terrorists. He said: "We must be vigilant about the ubiquitous nature of the scourge of terrorism and reaffirm our resolve to fight and eliminate it in all its forms, through intensified international cooperation." -APP
