KARACHI, Sept 9: A Pakistan Navy ship on Thursday rescued 18 people in the Arabian Sea. A press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations, navy, said illegal immigrants were being ferried by some agents to Gulf states in two boats when one of those got damaged.
The crew shifted to the other boat and fled, leaving the victims.
The navy ship, during its routine patrolling, found the boat, which was badly damaged and flooded. The ship lowered life boats and sent divers to conduct a rescue operation.
The rescue team saved all the people on the boat. The rescued people were given medical treatment on the ship. They would be handed over to the authorities concerned for investigation, the ISPR said. -APP
