KARACHI: Two SHOs suspended

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 8: Two SHOs and an investigation officer have been placed under suspension for dereliction of their duty and failure to prevent robberies in their respective areas.

City police chief Tariq Jamil said the SHO of Preedy, Shaukat Raza, was given time to control incidents of robberies but he failed to do so, and a Rs13.1 million robbery took place in his area a week ago.

Investigation Officer Mumtaz of the Preedy Police Station has also been suspended for not investigating the case properly. Similarly, the SHO of Boating Basin, Wasif Qureshi, has been suspended for increasing robberies in his jurisdiction.

FIR FORMS: Traders' associations have been issued forms to facilitate registration of FIRs, making it more easier, owing to frequent complaints about non-registration of reports by certain officials.

"We have already placed FIR forms in post offices for general public and various traders' associations have also been provided forms after meetings with their representatives so that any trader seeking registration of FIRs can do without going to a police station", Tariq Jamil said.

He said that the forms sent by the trade bodies would be forward to TPOs concerned. He said that the TPOs were also directed to hold meetings with traders' associations to devise a joint strategy.
