HYDERABAD, Sept 6: Senior journalist Parwano Bhatti, whose son Gul Bhatti, a JSQM leader, was murdered one and a half months ago, has criticized police for failing to arrest the killers.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he said 45 days had passed since the murder of his son in the Abdullah Centre, Latifabad, but police had not arrested the nominated accused, Mazhar Memon and Jan Mohammad Junejo. He said this was despite the fact that police knew whereabouts of the accused.

Mr Bhatti demanded that the Sindh government and the provincial police officer should take a notice of the partisan attitude of police, who were trying to spoil the case.

JSQM: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi, Abdul Wahid Arisar, Dr Niaz Kalani and Sagar Hanif Burdi, in a joint statement issued here on Monday, said inordinate delay in the arrest of killers of party leader Gul Bhatti spoke volumes for the inefficiency of police. They alleged that police were providing protection to the murderers.
