QUETTA, Sept 5: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani on Saturday expressed appreciation for the humanitarian services being provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization for the welfare of the people of the province.
Talking to local chiefs of the ICRC and the WHO, who called on him separately, the governor expressed the hope that the organizations would continue their activities.
The chief of the local office of the ICRC, Paul Fruh, apprised the governor of the organization's activities in the region. The chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Balochistan, Mir Sikandar Hayat Jamali, was also present.
The chief of the local WHO sub-office, Dr Nasr Din Al Tantavi informed the governor about the cooperation extended by the organization for the campaign against polio in Balochistan.
