PIA provides more seats for Umra pilgrims from Peshawar


KARACHI, Sept 3: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) provided adequate number of additional seats for Umra passengers from Peshawar during the month of August and would do the same in September.

Clarifying reports appearing in a section of the press, PIA said on Friday that 200 seats had been allocated to the Peshawar station on its demand for Umra passengers on flight PK-7333 on Aug 20, 2004.

On Aug 23, 2004, another flight, PK-7334, was arranged for the Peshawar station by a Boeing 747 aircraft, and a total of 433 seats were provided for Umra passengers from the NWFP capital.

A total of 159 seats were also allocated to Peshawar station by the national flag carrier on its various flights during August 2004. PIA has allocated more seats to Peshawar on extra sections to be operated on Sept 6, 7 and 10 for Umra passengers. -PPI
