KARACHI: KESC blamed for delay in road work
By Our Staff Reporter
KARACHI, Sept 3: The CDGK's oversee and monitoring committee has expressed its dissatisfaction over the pace of construction works on different on-going development projects.
The projects about which the committee has expressed its dismay include Manghopir Road, Shah Latif Road, Heart Disease Centre and Tannery Road. The committee members who visited these projects to review their progress directed the officials concerned to expedite the pace of work on these projects so that they are completed on their scheduled dates without compromising quality works.
The committee's members were also annoyed over delay in undertaking works of electrification, elevator and air-conditioning at the CDGK's Heart Diseases Centre. The committee's chairman instructed the officials concerned to submit a report to the City Nazim concerning non-cooperation of KESC in the construction of Manghopir Road, besides discussing the matter with the KESC officials for its timely completion.
He also asked the officials to re-open the completed portion of the Tannery Road for vehicular traffic. The committee has, however, expressed its satisfaction over the pace of work on FTC Flyover and Shahrah-i-Quaideen Flyover.
The committee, which has been formed by the city Nazim Niamatullah Khan, to review the pace of upliftment plans is headed by Gulshan Town's Naib Nazim, Salim Azhar and its members include Misbahuddin Fareed, district officer Noor-ul-Haq, Abid Ilyas and Najmi Alam.
