SIALKOT, Sept 3: A widow and her two daughters were beaten up severely by policemen in Garhi Gondal village, Head Marala.

A police team of Kotli Syed Ameer led by ASI Muhammad Asghar barged into the house of Bushra Bibi, held hostage her and her two daughters at gunpoint and thrashed them severely.

The policemen dragged away the widow out of her house and beat up her again in the village intersection. Later, they took the widow to the police station and detained her illegally for two days besides giving her sound beating repeatedly.

The ASI and other policemen also plucked off the nails of the widow and then released her in critical condition after taking Rs5,000 in bribe from her son.

On Friday, the widow approached Sialkot additional district and sessions judge Nasir Ahmad Awan for the registration of a case against the accused policemen.

The judge summoned Sialkot DPO Nisar Ahmad Saroya and other responsible policemen to appear before court on Sept 8.
