BAGHDAD, Sept 1: Militants released on Wednesday seven truck drivers held captive for 43 days, a day after 12 kidnapped Nepalese were murdered by their captors.

The drivers' employer, a Kuwaiti transport company, said it had paid more than $500,000 to an Iraqi group for the release.

The three Kenyans, three Indians and an Egyptian landed in the evening at Kuwait International Airport, where they were met by diplomats and officials from the Kuwait and Gulf Link Transport Company. -Reuters
