ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: An Indian helicopter, which was apparently unsure of its ground position, entered Pakistan airspace close to Lahore on Saturday morning, said an ISPR press release issued here on Wednesday.

It was timely detected by the PAF Air Defence network. The Lahore ATC was monitoring the radio communication between the Indian helicopter and the Amritsar ATC. Immediately upon its entry into Pakistan airspace, the PAF fighter aircraft were ordered to scramble and intercept the helicopter.

However, the pilot of the helicopter, after realizing that he was close to Lahore, immediately turned back. While the fighters were heading to intercept the helicopter, it exited Pakistan airspace. -APP
