KARACHI: Two men shot dead

KARACHI, Aug 30: A middle aged man was killed by armed men during a house dacoity bid in Quaidabad. Police said Sabz Ali, 45, suffered a bullet wound when armed men tried to deprive him of cash and valuables.

He was taken to a nearby private hospital where he was pronounced dead. The bandits escaped with Rs 25,000 cash and jewellry. In Lyari, a man was killed and his brother injured by two persons in Lyari on Monday morning.

Police said Mohammad Noor, 25 and his brother Juma Khan, 35, were staying at Al-Khair hotel in Baghdadi when they were allegedly attacked by armed suspects.

According to Juma Khan who was injured in the incident, two armed suspects had barged into their room and on resistance opened fire and fled. Noor died and Juma Khan suffered two bullet wounds.

However, police suspect that Juma Khan might have killed his brother and injured himself as the room was locked from inside when the police reached the hotel on hearing gunshots.

ENCOUNTER: The police on Monday arrested three suspects after an exchange of fire and recovered two pistols and one revolver from their possession. SHO Hyderi said four armed suspects barged into the house of one Rehmat in Block-F North Nazimabad. Someone from the neighbourhood informed the police on 15.
