KARACHI: Armed men abduct trader's son

KARACHI, Aug 25: The son of a Larkana-based rice trader was kidnapped by unknown armed suspects in Clifton on Wednesday morning. Police said Kapil Kumar, 13, was going to his school near Shireen Jinnah Colony with his driver in a car when they were intercepted by armed suspects travelling in another vehicle.

The driver, Qurban, was let off near Pir Bukhari Mazar, from where the suspects escaped taking the boy along with them. The police and family were looking for the boy. They had not received any ransom call till filing of this report.

ARRESTED: The Crime Investigation Department of Police arrested two activists of the banned Sipah-i-Mohammad Pakistan on Wednesday, and recovered two unlicensed pistols from their possession.

Police sources said that Rehan Abbas alias Saddam and Farhan alias Javed were picked up from Kakri ground. Police said that they were accused of attacking a mosque in Gulberg killing one and injuring four others and firing at a gathering of Harkatul Ansar camp in Nazimabad killing 12 people some nine years back.
