MITHI, Aug 24: A married woman, who was allegedly beaten and criminally assaulted a couple of days back, has appealed to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and the government to provide justice and protection to her family.
Talking to journalists here on Tuesday, the woman, Jamiat, wife of Chandoo Bheel, of the Bhanani village, Mithi, demanded action against the culprits who were now harassing her family members to withdraw the case.
She alleged that she and her husband were collecting thatch in a field near their village when Krishan, Gomindo, Natho, Moti and Mandhro, all Bheels by caste, attacked and beaten them. She said the accused later overpowered her husband and criminally assaulted her.
She said her husband had lodged an FIR at the Mithi police station. The woman was medically examined at the Mithi Civil Hospital and the report confirmed that she had been raped. The woman said police had arrested the accused but were not properly investigating the case.
POSTING ORDERS DEMANDED: Thirty-six employees of defunct Sazda, who were adjusted in the directorate-general, mines and mineral development, and the Sindh Coal Authority, have criticized officials concerned for not issuing them posting orders or paying them their salary for 10 months.
Mohammad Soomar, Shankar Lal, Ranomal and other employees told this correspondent here on Tuesday that after winding up of Sazda, they were directed by the Sindh services and general administration department to perform duty in the directorate-general, mines and mineral development, and the Sindh Coal Authority.
