Hizb leader killed: India

JAMMU, Aug 18: Police in occupied Kashmir said they shot dead on Wednesday a top Hizbul Mujahideen leader, who was suspected of involvement in the killing of 25 people in the insurgency-affected region.

Police had killed Abu Sufiyan, alias Tala Afaqui, who was a "divisional commander" of Hizbul Mujahideen, said Deputy Inspector General S. M. Sahai from the Rajouri-Poonch sector. -AFP
