DADU: Protest against illegal disposal of equipment

DADU, Aug 18: Employees of the Pakistan Telecommunication Limited staged a demonstration outside the press club on Wednesday to protest against alleged sale of valuable equipment by a high-ranking official.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders of the union said costly equipment worth millions of rupees including generators of telephone exchanges, 23 rectifiers of the Alcatel digital telephone system were illegally sold out by the official.

They said wires and other parts of the PTCL were also sold to businessmen and contractors. They said the DET Dadu had transferred 12 employees and stopped their salaries to hush up his illegal activities.

KILLED: A woman, Aamnat Lund, 35, wife of Ali Gul Lund, was axed to death after being dubbed as kari in Abad village, Sehwan taluka the other day.
