MANCHESTER, Aug 16: Robert Key's unbeaten 93 guided England to a seven-wicket win over West Indies on the final day of the third Test on Monday and gave the hosts an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series.
Key steadied his side after a poor start as they chased 1, a record fourth-innings winning total at Old Trafford. It was England's ninth win in 10 Tests. Andrew Flintoff (57 not out) hit two sixes and Michael Vaughan (33) also batted well on a deteriorating pitch after Steve Harmison's four for 44 had helped bowl out West Indies for 165.
Meanwhile, uncapped Warwickshire batsman Ian Bell has been called into England's squad as cover for the injured Graham Thorpe for the fourth Test. Thorpe broke his finger while making 114 in the first innings in this Test making him doubtful for the final match of the series starting at The Oval on Thursday.
SQUAD: Michael Vaughan, (captain), James Anderson, Ian Bell, Andrew Flintoff, Ashley Giles, Stephen Harmison, Matthew Hoggard, Geraint Jones, Simon Jones, Robert Key, Andrew Strauss, Graham Thorpe, Marcus Trescothick.
