Asad, Nasir dazzle

KARACHI, Aug 14: An unbeaten double-century by Asadullah Sumairi and a brilliant all-round performance by Nasir Aziz were the highlights in the latest round of PCB Under-19 Inter-district cricket Karachi region matches.

Asad hammered 209 off 229 balls with the help of 17 fours and two sixes to help Zone-IV thrash Zone-III by 146 runs.

Skipper Nasir Aziz also had a memorable match to remember. He hit 83 off 94 balls with the aid of eight fours and one six.

Then on Saturday, Nasir grabbed eight for 98 in 26.4 overs with his off-spinners. Behram Khan scored a gallant 105 off 197 deliveries. He stroked 12 fours and two sixes.

Slow left-armer Noman Alvi claimed six for 56 in Zone-VI's 114-run win over Zone-V.

Okara beat Sahiwal by five wickets.

SAHIWAL 175 in 58 overs (Mohammad Waris 61); OKARA 178-5 in 57.2 overs (Qaiser Shahzad 82 not out).

Bhakkar beat Jhang by 157 runs.
