KARACHI, Aug 14: Adviser to chief minister on local government, Waseem Akhtar, has said that unified working under the new local government system can lead to the establishment of a good society playing an important role towards progress and prosperity of the province.

" The people have not yet understood this system and it high time that all should work by rising above politics for development of the province".

He was speaking at the concluding session of the Citizen Community Board workshop, organised by Provincial Programme Support office, finance Department, at a local hotel.

Waseem Akhtar pointed out that a big amount had been allocated for Citizen Community Boards for the last 3 years but no one is taking interest in its prudent utilization. He said those living in this province never gave a thought with the spirit that it is our province.
