KARACHI: Jundullah activist remanded


KARACHI, Aug 13: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) headed by Judge Feroz Mehmood Bhatti on Friday remanded Rao Khalid alias Haris, an activist of the Jundullah group arrested for his alleged involvement in the Karachi corps commander motorcade attack case , for 10 days in police custody.

He was produced before the court amid tight security. The police showing his arrest on Thursday in Cattle Colony, Malir, claimed that they had seized a pistol, a triple-two rifle and two hand-grenades from him.

The court had last Saturday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of Rao Khalid and other absconding co-accused Adnan Shah alias Tipu, Mohammad Qasim, Shahab, Bilal, Tayab, Hammad and Fasih, who are still at large.

They with Jundullah activists Attur Rehman alias Ibrahim, Shahzad Ahmed Bajwa, Yaqoob Saeed, Uzair Ahmed, Shoaib Siddiqui, Danish Inam, Najeebullah, Khurrum Saifullah and Shahzad Mukhtar are charged with attacking the motorcade of Corps Commander of Karachi Lt-Gen Ahsan Saleem Hayat on June 10 in the Clifton area, killing 10 people, including six armymen and three policemen and injuring 10 others. - PPI
