KARACHI: Fisheries official suspended

KARACHI, Aug 11: The advisor to chief minister on Livestock and Fisheries, Fakir Muhammad Jaddam Mangrio, has suspended a KFHA official for negligence from duty.

The advisor, who is also chairman of the Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority (KFHA), on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to Karachi Fish Harbour and inspected various sections of the KFHA.

He was displeased over the fact that some officials and staff members were not attending their duties regularly. He, on the occasion, suspended a KFHA inspector for negligence from duty, while urging other officials to be punctual, and streamline functioning of the KFHA so as to increase its revenue.

He told the officials that no leniency would be tolerated with regard to negligence. The advisor said that the KFHA should take all steps to maintain and improve the Karachi Fish Harbour as an export oriented organisation.

In this regard, he called for all-out steps to keep the harbour tidy. He also issued necessary instructions on the spot and directed prompt disposal of files and cases.

The advisor also spoke to some fishermen sitting outside the office for their computerized cards. He then directed the officials to facilitate them in every possible manner.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the KFHA Employees Union (CBA) also met the advisor and congratulated him on his appointment as chairman of the KFHA. The delegation assured the advisor of its full cooperation for the advancement of the harbour.

Meanwhile, Faqir Muhammad Jaddam Mangrio, advisor to chief minister on Livestock and Fisheries, has directed the concerned department to adopt all necessary precautions for preventing any outbreak of diseases among livestock during the current monsoon season, adds APP.

The advisor, as per instructions of the chief minister, has asked the Director General, Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Department to ensure maximum provision of required vaccinations, and efficient care and medication for all livestock in the face of seasonal health conditions and otherwise.
