By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 9: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has approved a Rs35 million scheme regarding establishment of students services centre at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore.

According to a press release, the main objective of the project is to provide and strengthen the student affairs and services facilities at the newly-established University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore.

It is hoped that the centre will provide an opportunity to students and the faculty to interact with the alumni, farmers, stakeholders and experts in their professional development. It is to note that the investment in student affairs and services ensures a healthy return to national economy and manpower development, the statement said.

The centre not only aims at facilitating and centralizing the student affairs and service at the UVAS, but will also provide counselling to students so they can make effective contribution towards nation building.

It will also increase interaction between teachers, parents and students for community development. The centre will encourage group and professional club meetings that provide healthy environment for personality building and encourage students to organize, manage and participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Under the scheme, a fully-equipped sports complex will also be established for arranging indoor games and other such activities.
