KARACHI: Admissions to schools, colleges from 13th

KARACHI, Aug 9: The process of admissions to city colleges and higher secondary schools will now begin on Aug 13, with the sale of prospectus and placement forms.
A senior education official in the city government said that the arrangements pertaining to the admissions were reviewed at a meeting of the Centralized Admission Committee on Monday, which decided that the commencement of the admission process be delayed for two days for some technical reasons.
Earlier, the committee had announced to start the admissions from Aug 11. A source in the city government's education department attributed the decision to delay in provision of prospectus and forms by the concerned printing press, which were to be handed over further to 40 designated branches of the Habib Bank for sale.
It was further learnt that now a meeting between the CAC members and the bank officials would be held on Aug 12, which would be followed by a meeting of college principals and a briefing for newsmen same day.
The HBL branches, which will issue the placement form and brochure are: North Nazimabad town; Barkat-e-Hyderi and Sakhi Hasan, Shah Faisal town; Drigh Colony No 1 and Drigh Road cantt, Gulshan town; Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Hasan Square, Abul Hasan Isphani Road and Gulshan-e-Iqbal No-5, Jamshed town; Sindh Muslim Society, Bahadurabad, Jamshed Road, Mehmoodabad, Lasbela Town, Jacob Lines, Modern Housing Society and New Town, Malir town; Malir Halt and Malir City. Gulberg town; Yousuf Plaza, Shahrah-i-Pakistan and Karimabad.
