KARACHI, Aug 8: The aim of the government, it seems, is to invite women and girls out of their homes. This was stated on Sunday by speakers at an event held on Sunday by the Islami Jamiat-i-Talibaat
in connection with its movement for establishment of a women's university.
Speaking as chairperson of the event, MPA Kulsoom Nizamani of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal said creating understanding of the Islamic issues was the need of the hour. "However, taking women and girls out of their homes has become the government's priority. So the winds blowing against us are strong. That is why we should redouble our efforts," said Ms Nizamani.
Prof Jahan Ara Lutfi said it was difficult for girls to study in co-educational institutions. Others who spoke on the occasion included Sofia Yazdani, Nargis Rehman, Humaira Javed, Surriya Qamar and Amima Saeed.
