KARACHI: More free IT centres soon - Kamal


KARACHI, Aug 8: The provincial minister for Information Technology, Syed Mustafa Kamal, has said the government is keen on making Sindh a model province by inducing large scale development in the IT sector.

He said this during the inauguration of the 2nd Free IT Computer Awareness Centre in Pak Colony on Sunday. He said the youths of Sindh would be provided with latest IT education so that they can compete internationally, adding that the Sindh IT department was setting up similar free centres in various parts of in collaboration with the private sector to provide free-of-cost IT education and Internet facility to poor students.

Mr Kamal said the government was taking revolutionary steps for developing the IT sector in Sindh. He said a plan was under consideration for providing jobs to graduate jobless youths in the IT sector, which would be implemented soon. Later, the minister accompanied by Additional Secretary Dr A.D. Sagna Gee visited the Expo Centre and reviewed arrangements for the ITCN Asia 2004. - APP
