By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Aug 7: All-rounder Shahid Afridi and upcapped left-handed opener Salman Butt were on Saturday named in the Pakistan one-day squad for back-to-back tournaments in August and September.

Afridi, on the recommendation of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer, replaces leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, while Salman gets the nod in place of Imran Nazir. Both Kaneria and Imran were in the Asia Cup team thatrecently contested in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan will take part in a three-nation tournament in Holland from Aug 23, followed by the ICC Champions Trophy in England.

Announcing the squad, PakistanCricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Shaharyar M. Khan, said chief selector Wasim Bari had briefed him over making the two changes.

He said that the team was selected to ensure continuity, therefore, no major changes have been effected to accommodate youngsters in the light Pakistan's inconsistent showing at the Asia Cup.
