HYDERABAD, Aug 4: The All Pakistan Trade Unions' Organization has accused the management of the Indus Jute Mills, Dhabeji, of violating labour laws.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, organization's divisional president Gul Mohammad Jhirk and general-secretary Mohammad Ashraf Rajput said mill workers were not being registered under the EOBI scheme.
They said the workers had also not been issued appointment letters and attendance cards. They said the attitude of the mill management had created resentment among the workers.
The organization leaders demanded that the government should ensure that the employees were provided with their legal rights.
BREAST FEEDING: Naib District Nazim Nawab Rashid Ali Khan has said mother's milk is a blessing of Allah and an ideal food for children. Speaking at a breast feeding day function organized by the Sindh health department here on Monday, he urged social welfare organizations, woman health workers and councillors to visit every home to educate mothers about the importance of breast feeding.
The director, rural health, Dr Ghulam Hussain Shaikh, said chances of breast cancer were reduced to a very great extent if the mother fed her milk to child. He said breast feeding for at least six months also reduced the risk of diabetes in children.
