MINGORA: Govt colleges perform badly

MINGORA, Aug 4: Students of government colleges did not perform well in the intermediate examination for the year 2004, and only two of the 30 institutions produced 100 per cent results , and some 423 students were arrested for adopting unfair means in exams.

The Government Degree College and the Government Higher Secondary School, Sundovi Shangla, produced 100 per cent results. The schools which produced below 30 per cent results are: Government Higher Secondary school No 2, Mingora; Higher Secondary School, Kalam; Government Higher Secondary School, Khwazakhela; and Higher Secondary School, Mankiyal.

The performance of renowned colleges like Postgraduate Jehanzeb College was also not up to mark as out of 669 only 346 students passed the exams. Female educational institutions performed better than the male students.

The Government Girls Degree College, Saidu Sharif, achieved 79 per cent result, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Matta, produced 82 per cent result while the result of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Odigram, Swat, was 80 per cent.
