Cabinet to review law and order today

ISLAMABAD Aug 3: A meeting of the federal cabinet to be held here on Wednesday is expected to review the law and order situation in the country. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
The cabinet would consider steps to curb terrorist acts with special reference to the involvement of some outlawed organizations the sources said. The interior ministry would brief the cabinet on special measures that it had taken following the Friday's suicide attack on the prime minister-in-waiting and the cabinet would approve the plan with additional suggestions.
The issue of 7th Wage Board award is not included in the cabinet's agenda. The cabinet is also likely to review the situation in connection with phutti price fluctuation. It is expected that the meeting would propose measures to ensure payment of Rs925 per 40 kilogrammes to growers.
It would consider steps taken by the Trading Corporation of Pakistan to stabilise cotton prices. The cabinet will also ratify a number of inter-state agreements including accords between Pakistan, Thailand, Laos, Zimbabwe, Vietnam and Cambodia on ending bilateral visa restrictions.
