RAWALPINDI, Aug 3: Two persons, including a woman, were killed in separate road accidents in Islamabad on Tuesday, police said. In the first incident, a woman, identified as Kaneez Bibi, was killed after being run over by a speeding car on Islamabad highway.

The police said the relatives of the deceased woman had not lodged a case against the accused driver, saying they would decide after a few days whether to forgive or to file a case.

In the second incident, a minor boy was killed after being hit by a recklessly driven car in Golra area. The victim, who is yet to be identified, was crossing the road when the incident took place.

Meanwhile, Habibur Rehman, a resident of 7th road, told the New Town police that he had gone to his relatives after locking his house. On his return, he found the locks of his house broken and households scattered in rooms.

On listing the goods, he found gold ornaments, Rs8,000 in cash and two wrist watches stolen. In another incident, three persons entered the office of Imtiaz Ali in Saddar and looted Rs11,000 in cash, prize bonds worth Rs25,000 and a mobile telephone.

A reporter from Islamabad adds: Two persons were killed while a girl attempted suicide here on Tuesday, police and hospital sources said. In the first incident, an unidentified labourer was electrocuted near Golra Shrine.

The labourer was working on the roof of an under-construction plaza when he accidentally touched the high-tension wire passing over it. The body of the deceased was sent to his native city, Bahawalpur, without autopsy and legal formalities.
