KARACHI: Reckless driving claims two lives

KARACHI, Aug 3: Two young pedestrians were crushed by speeding coaches in Karimabad late Monday night. Police said that Faraz, 20, and Khurram, 22, were standing together at a bus stop near Karimabad when two speeding coaches knocked them down and then fled away.

The victims were taken to a nearby private hospital where they were pronounced dead. Soon after the accident, enraged people of the area pelted vehicles with stones and blocked the road.

BODY FOUND: The body of a young woman killed by unknown persons in Mohammadi Colony was found on Tuesday morning. Police said the head of twenty-year-old Laila, found from a house in Mohammadi Colony, was crushed with a blunt object. Her body was shifted to Civil Hospital for autopsy examination.

Police said that Laila had came to Karachi from Kandahar, Afghanistan four days back. She was married to Afzal some six months ago. However, her husband could not be located by the police suggesting that he might be behind the murder.
