Citizens advised not to travel to Iraq

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 31: Pakistan has warned its citizens against travel to Iraq for security reasons, says a press release issued by the foreign office.

The fresh advisory comes in the wake of the recent execution of two Pakistanis in Iraq at the hands of kidnappers.

"In view of the unstable security situation in Iraq, the government of Pakistan advises Pakistani citizens not to travel to Iraq until conditions improve there," said the release.

The foreign office said that pilgrims, too, should defer travel to Iraq until the situation returned to normal. Pakistani citizens would be informed when it would be safe to travel to Iraq, it said.
