KAHIRPUR: Dispute over Sajjada Nashini persists

By Our Correspondent

KHAIRPUR, July 30: The dispute over succession of Sajjada Nashin of Dargah Ghausia, Ranipur, could not be resolved as there are two claimants for the seat.

Pir Abdul Qadir Jilani was installed as the Sajjada Nashin at a ceremony of Dastarbandi held in Ranipur on Friday.

Among others, the Jilani Syeds of Ranipur, Gambat and adjacent areas and People's Party Parliamentarians attended the ceremony. Prominent among them were PPP MNA Syed Fazal Shah Jilani, MPAs Qaim Ali Shah, Nawab Wassan, Naeem Kharal and Zahid Hussain Bambhan and Pir of Golra Sharif Mazhar Ali Shah

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Qadir claimed that he had legal and moral right to become the Sajjada Nashin. Later, he went to the shrine and laid floral wreaths on it. Police and Rangers patrolled the town to prevent any untoward incident.

On the other hand, the rival group of Abdul Qadir is making preparations to install Ghulam Ghous Jilani alias Bagan Shah, the son of former Sajjada Nashin the late Ghazi Ahmed Shah, as the Sajjada Nashin on the eve of his Chehlum on August 5.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that on the instructions of the Sindh chief minister, the DCO had held separate talks with both the claimants of the Sajjada Nashini to persuade them to resolve the issue through talks but to no avail.
