KARACHI: Dualization of N-bypass approved

KARACHI, July 29: Karachiites would soon get rid of pollution and get resolved the problem of traffic congestion. This was stated by Mr Mumtaz Hameed, Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister, during his visit to the project site of the Northern Bypass here on Thursday.

He revealed that the Sindh government had got the proposal of dualization of the Northern By-pass approved by the president. The adviser was told by the project director that the total length of this Rs29 billion project was 56 kilometres and 60 per cent work had been completed so far.

He further told Mr Hameed that the ICI Chowk to Gulbhar Chowk and RCD highway to Super highway sections of the road would be opened to public transport by September this year.

Three more junctions - one each at Gulbhar Chowk, Paracha Chowk and Super highway - would be constructed on the project site. Mr Hameed observed that the governor and chief minister of Sindh were taking special interest in mega projects in the city which would be the government's gift for Karachiites. -PPI
