KARACHI, July 28: The Sindh Education Minister, Dr Hamida Khuhro, has taken strong notice of large scale irregularities as reported in the press regarding promotion of teachers and subject specialists in the education department of Naushehro Feroze.

She directed the Sindh education department to take over the record of the funds of Naushehro Feroze and order an inquiry into the alleged irregularities to have been committed concerning promotions.

The minister said that merit would be enforced in the department, and all irregularities and favouritism would be weeded out. She warned that corrupt employees would be strictly dealt with.

Meanwhile, the Nepalese ambassador to Pakistan, Pushkar Man Singh Raj Bhandari called on the Sindh minister for education, Dr Hamida Khuhro on Tuesday. Both leaders agreed on mutual cooperation in the field of education and culture.

Dr Hamida Khuhro briefed the ambassador about the education system of Sindh. The minister also presented a Sindhi ajrak and cap to the visiting guest. Nepalese consul general in Karachi Mushtaq Chappra was also present. - APP/PPI
