KARACHI: Study visit to KBCA


KARACHI, July 28: The chief controller, Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) Brig A.S. Nasir has highlighted the importance of architects in construction of buildings, which he said, reflects the architectural thinking of citizens and their living conditions.

He was talking to an 11-member group of students from the Dawood College of Engineering and Technology, who visited the KBCA on Wednesday in connection with internship in architecture.

The chief controller exhorted students to continue with their academic pursuits with interest and dedication, while emphasising on learning more, assuring them of his cooperation in this regard.

It may be mentioned that earlier a group of male and female students from the Urban Design Department of the NED university had completed its four-week study visit to the KBCA. While the group from Dawood college would benefit in the fields of design, structure, demolition and administration for a similar duration.

Brig Nasir informed the group about the steps taken to meet latest requirements for facilitating people, adding that dual water pipeline system, electricity, gas and car parking had been made compulsory for approval of a project plan. Officer on special duty Rauf Akhtar Farooqi, EDO Ateeq Baig and controllers Manzoor Qadir were also present. - APP
