QUETTA, July 27: The Balochistan Cabinet has decided to take action against elements creating law and order problems in the province. The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf on Tuesday.
The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation and decided that Balochistan would not become a safe haven for terrorists. IGP Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob informed the meeting about the steps taken to counter terrorist attacks.
FUNDS: The chief minister, while talking to a delegation of unemployed agriculture graduates and engineers that called on him on Tuesday, said that the federal government has provided funds to the province to train 500 youths for port handling and marine sector.
BLACK DAY: The Baloch Students Organization has announced that it will observe 'Black Day' for three days from Wednesday to condemn a search operation launched in Turbat and other areas of the Makran coastal belt.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Tuesday, student leader Imdad Baloch criticized what he called atrocities and excesses committed by the law-enforcement agencies at the behest of the Punjab leadership against innocent Balochs.
He said the army on Monday launched a search operation in Makran with the help of helicopters to harass natives and arrested many people, besides insulting women. The action, he alleged, had been taken against the people who were opposing the so-called mega projects.
