GUJRANWALA, July 27: The district administration on Tuesday banned dancing and gave a one-week deadline to theatre owners and drama producers for complying with the government's directive regarding vulgarity.
The district government warned that their theatres would be sealed and criminal cases against them in case would be registered of non-compliance. The deadline was given when district officer (revenue) Syed Najam Ahmad Shah, in-charge of the raiding team, presented his report in a meeting held here about the monitoring of theatres.
Executive district officer (revenue) Tahir Khurshed, other senior officers and theatre owners also attended the meeting. The district administration directed the drama producers to bring actresses in full dress on stage and adhere to the approved script.
The meeting decided that actresses and drama producers would be arrested instantly if they were found involved in violation of law. PLEA REJECTED: The local anti-terrorism court No 1 judge on Tuesday rejected the bail application of an MMA activist allegedly involved in a circus fire case and ordered the police to produce him before the court after arresting him.
