SUKKUR, July 27: Hundreds of people from various villages took out a procession and staged a sit-in on the Indus highway near Kashmore on Monday against load-shedding.

The protest procession led by seven unions council Nazims and Naib Nazims reached at the Bharchoondi chowk on the Indus highway and staged a sit-in for about two hours. The protester burnt tyres and raised slogans against Hesco officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Nek Mohammad Khoso, Salar Mazari and others said undeclared load-shedding for 12 hours daily was being observed at Khoso feeder while the people were give wrong and unjust bills.

KILLED: A motorcyclist was killed and another injured in a road accident near Daur on Monday morning. Akram Ali and Zahid Mehmood were on their way to Daur when reached at Zulfiqar bus stop a pickup coming from the opposite direction hit their motorcycle.

As a result they were injured seriously and shifted to Nawabshah hospital where Akram Ali succumbed to his injuries while Zahid Mehmood was said to be in a critical condition. The driver fled from the scene while police impounded the vehicle.

VIGILANCE TEAMS: The Sindh food department has formed vigilance teams for inspection of hoarding of wheat in contravention of the Sindh Food Grain Licensing Control Order 1957 and the Food Stuffs Control Act 1958.
