ISLAMABAD: Islamabad, Pindi students bag top 3 positions in HSSC exam

ISLAMABAD, July 27: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Tuesday announced the result of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-II examination
with top three positions bagged by the students of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The board, which has in its jurisdiction the federal schools and colleges throughout Pakistan and Middle East, declared that 34,768 candidates appeared in the examination out of whom 27,045 were declared successful with the pass percentage standing at 78.01 percent.
Overall, Shahid Habib Khan (pre-engineering group) of F.G Sir Syed College, Rawalpindi Cantonment, stood first by securing 981 marks, followed by Farwah Ahmed (pre-engineering group) of F.G College for Women, F-7/2, Islamabad, obtaining 978 marks and Iram Aziz (pre-medical group) of F.G College for Women, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi Cantonment, obtaining 972 marks.
Likewise, out of the top nine positions, seven have been taken away by the students of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Once again, except for the pre-engineering group, girls have outshone boys in all other groups.
Among girls, Farwah Ahmed stood first by obtaining 978 marks, Iram Aziz stood second by securing 972 marks. The third position was shared by Ambar Afzal of Fauji Foundation College for Girls, New Lalazar, Rawalpindi, and F.G. Degree College, Gujranwala, securing 963 marks each in the pre-medical group.
Among boys, Shahid Habib Khan claimed first position in the pre-engineering group by securing 981 marks. The second position was shared by Tahir Hussain Shah Sherazi of Air Base Inter College, Sargodha (pre-engineering group) and Asad Khizar Malik of Army Public School and College, Bahawalpur Cantonment (pre- medical group) by securing 971 marks. The third position went to Syed Raza Mohsin of F.G Sir Syed College, Rawalpindi, who got 970 marks in the pre-engineering group.
In the humanities group, Sundus Sharif of F. G. College for Women, F-7/2, Islamabad, stood first by securing 929 marks followed by Hasina Khan of the same college obtaining 854 marks. The third position was shared by Marwa Afzal of Pakistan International School, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Ms Sundus of F.G College for Women F-7/2 by securing 842 marks each.
In the pre-medical group, Iram Aziz stood at the top by securing 972 marks followed by Asad Khizar Malik, securing 971 marks. The third position was shared by Amber Afzal and Sidra Zaka, securing 963 marks each.
In the general-science group Amina Siraj of Fauji Foundation College for Girls, New Lalazar, stood first by securing 932 marks, Mohammad Bilal Khalid Raja of Fauji Foundation College for Boys, New Lalazar, Rawalpindi, stood second by securing 927 marks and Fariha Rauf of Pakistan International School, Jeddah, stood third by securing 908 marks.
