QUETTA: Detainee not released despite court order

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 26: Central executive committee member of the National Party and MPA Rehmat Ali Baloch has alleged that the provincial government is reluctant to free Khuda Bakhsh Bizenjo detained on July 4 under MPO-3 , despite an order issued by the Balochistan High Court for his release.

Speaking at a press conference at the Press Club on Sunday, he distributed the court order dated July 22 in which the Chief Justice had declared the detention as malafide, illegal and without jurisdiction, and set aside the detention order of the home secretary with the directive that the detainee should be released if not required in another case.

Rehmat Baloch stated that the government should have honoured and respected the verdict of the court by releasing Khuda Bakhsh Bizenjo, but keeping him in detention despite the orders of the court, the government violated the law and constitution.

Central Deputy Secretary General of the party Abdul Khaliq Baloch, former member of the national assembly Dr Yasin Baloch and central cultural secretary Dr Ishaq Baloch were present on this occasion.
