ISLAMABAD, July 24: Afghan President Hamid Karzai has praised Pakistan's efforts for eliminating terrorism from the region.

In an interview with the Voice of America, the Afghan Presidnet appreciated Pakistan's war on terror in its tribal areas.

He said both Pakistan and Afghanistan should jointly work against this scourge.

Efforts against terrorism would be the main topic with Pakistani officials during Mr Karzai's visit to Pakistan, he added.

In response to a question, Mr Karzai said the Afghan people should prepare themselves for security problems and difficulties.

He further said the restoration of peace and stability was not possible in months or years, but it needed a long time.

Mr Karzai expressed the hope that terrorist attacks would not disturb the reconstruction process.-APP
