Protest against Hesco

By Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, July 23: Activists of the Insaan Dost Tehrik staged a demonstration outside the press club against what they called anti-consumer policies of Hesco, including frequent load- shedding, detection bills and over-charging.

Speaking on the occasion, office-bearers of the organization, Naeem Noorani, Arif Kaimkhani and Zahir Ansari demanded action against alleged corrupt officials of the company. They said unannounced load-shedding had become the order of the day, making the lives of the people miserable during sizzling heat.

They said customer centres established by Hesco have become irrelevant as consumers visiting these centres were humiliated and insulted by the Hesco staff. They warned if Hesco officials did not change their attitude towards consumers, the people would be forced to besiege Hesco chief.

PML-N: Activists of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) staged a demonstration outside the press club against Hesco and WASA. They were protesting against frequent unannounced load- shedding, detection bills and supply of contaminated water to people.

They raised slogans against Hesco and WASA officials. Speaking on the occasion, Sindh council member of the party Sultan Shaikh advocate, Rao Aslam and others demanded that Hesco should immediately stop issuance of detection and inflated bills and take permanent measures to end load-shedding.
